Patented LUMINEERS made of Cerinate Porcelain, due to their superior strength, can be made as thin as a contact lens and may be placed over existing teeth without removing sensitive tooth structure (unlike traditional techniques). LUMINEERS are perfect for stained, chipped, misaligned, or spaced teeth and are proven to last, in an ongoing study, for over 20 years. It's the strongest porcelain available on the market today!
Case Selection

LUMINEERS No-Prep Technique allows LUMINEERS to be placed over existing teeth without the removal of any form of tooth structure. Therefore, anesthesia and temporaries are not required. The majority of patients fit this technique. No-prep technique is perfect for stained, chipped, misaligned or spaced teeth. Bonding porcelain to enamel creates a solid, secure bond compared to bonding porcelain to dentine.

LUMINEERS Cosmetic Contour (enamelplasy only) Technique- when a patient has slight overlaps and tight spacing, some contouring should be done. LUMINEERS, even with minimal contouring, still never touch dentine. LUMINEERS minimal contouring technique requires only .3mm to .5mm enamel removal, causing no sensitivity for the patient and therefore no need for any anesthesia. Minimal contouring requires the use of 4 x magnification and a fluted carbide diamond.

LUMINEERS Full-Prep Technique- In some cases, full preparation is required, if acceptable to the patient (e.g. realignment of the smile line due to severe misalignment). The full-prep technique was developed to compensate for the thick porcelain available to dentists at the time. With LUMINEERS, veneers can be made thick or thin; pressed or stacked. Most patients, however, prefer thin LUMINEERS due to the non-invasive pain-free technique.
Cerinate porcelain is the only porcelain backed by evidence-based research demonstrating over 20 years of clinical success.

In long term clinical research trials with LUMINEERS made of Cerinate Porcelain, Ultra-Bond Resin Cement and Tenure Adhesives, they remain bonded for over 20 years. In other words, no occurred, or none of the veneers came off.

BONDED PORCELAIN VENEER RESTORATIONS STUDY

Strassler, H.E. and Weiner, S., "Long Term Clinical Evaluation of Etched Porcelain Veneers," University of maryland Dental School, presented at the American Society for Clinical Research Meeting. March 2004.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the clinical performance and durability of anterior etched porcelain LUMINEERS BY CERINATE. The study population consisted of 30 patients with discolored or malpositioned teeth. A total of 167 Cerinate LUMINEERS (Den-Mat Holdings, LLC) were placed with Ultra-Bond. The patients were recalled for collection of long-term data at periods of 140 months to over 240 months (20 years) with a mean of 182.4 months (15.2 years). Modified United States Public Health Service criteria were used to evaluate color, cavosurface marginal adaption, and marginal discoloration. The data at the last recall are as follows:

COLOR
Alpha: 143
Bravo: 14
Charlie: -
Delta: -

MARGINAL ADAPTATION
Alpha: 128
Bravo: 12
Charlie: 3
Delta: 14

MARGINAL DISCOLORATION
Alpha: 133
Bravo: 22
Charlie: 2
Delta: -

There was 100% retention of the LUMINEERS over the period of the study. Over the duration of the study, of the patients that were able to be recalled, 94% of the restorations were clinically successful (157 of 167) with only 10 LUMINEERS needing replacement. Replacement was usually due to chipping or cracking on the stress-bearing surfaces. In some cases, the LUMINEERS were replaced not due to the severity of the fracture, but because the study protocol called for the LUMINEERS to be replaced if any fracture occurred.

Results indicate that the Cerinate LUMINEERS cemented with Ultra-Bond were highly successful over the period of the sutdy.

"I have been delivering beautiful smiles for years while allowing my own smile to become discolored and aged. I have never had a cavity in my life, and the last thing I want is to feel what a drill is like. When bleaching isn't enough, then it is time to go to the next level and the only thing I was willing to allow to have done on myself were LUMINEERS. I wish I had done this five years ago."- Dr Michael Schneider, LUMINEERS Patient and Dentist

"I feel like I am a totally different person. I chose LUMINEERS because of the no pain method, the time frame was quicker, and they strengthened my teeth. I never dreamed that the LUMINEERS would take care of my smile like this. They covered all of my bad, imprefect teeth. It is just instant gratification." -Sherry Wuerzburger, LUMINEERS Patient

"I have been using both Den-Mat supplies and the Cerinate Studio for the last 15 years and I love it. Your studio has been one of the best cosmetic labs that I have ever used. I will continue to use if for the next 15 years to come."- Dr Al La Pelusa

"As a dental assistant/patient, I am still pleased with my Cerinate LUMINEERS. They were placed 12 years ago to close some spacing and give a brighter smile. They sill look great!."- Betsy Muncey
